Back
Student Report by Aadam S year 8
Our Year 8 Art trip to the Warner Bros Studio was a truly magical experience. We began our journey by taking the Harry Potter shuttle bus from Watford Junction, which set the scene for the adventure ahead. As we arrived, we were transported into the Wizarding World, surrounded by the incredible sets, props, and costumes that made the films so iconic.
One of the highlights was learning about the special effects and animatronics that made the magic happen. From flying broomsticks to the moving portraits, the level of detail was astonishing. A particularly exciting moment was experiencing the special effects used in the scene where the Weasley twins let off fireworks during the O.W.L. exams, filling the Great Hall with dazzling colours and sparks. I also enjoyed exploring Diagon Alley and seeing the intricate designs of Ollivanders, Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes, and Gringotts Bank.
The experience wasn’t just about looking at the sets—it was about truly understanding the effort behind the films. Seeing the concept art, models, and behind-the-scenes footage gave me a new appreciation for the creativity and craftsmanship involved.
Overall, the visit was an inspiring experience that showcased how art and design play a huge role in film-making. Seeing the creative process behind such a famous film series gave us a new appreciation for the artistry involved, making this trip both educational and unforgettable.
