Character Curriculum
Our aim is to provide an education of the highest quality to meet the individual and collective needs and aspirations for every student, guided by our school values of Endeavour, Excellence, Integrity, Kindness, Creativity and Individuality. These values underpin our personal development provision that permeates through all aspects of school life.

One important aspect of our broad personal development curriculum offer is our taught Character Curriculum. The Character Curriculum is delivered during form time, encouraging boys to consider their own character development and reflect on how their experiences are shaping their character as they progress through the school. The curriculum is centred on our six school values of Endeavour, Excellence, Integrity, Kindness, Creativity and Individuality. Each one of these values is the whole school focus for a half-term; promoted through assemblies, themed days and in lessons.
The Character Curriculum is planned and sequenced so that boys develop a deeper understanding of key character values as they progress through the school. The aim is that these building blocks of character come together so that boys may develop a sense of phronesis or practical wisdom - enabling them to act and make decisions with good sense. All year groups from 7 - 13 follow the curriculum and an example of the types of lesson themes that each year group may cover can be found on the link below:
Peer mentoring sessions take place as part of our Character Curriculum offer and this involves students from different year groups exploring our school values together; sharing knowledge, experiences and ideas.
In addition to the Character Curriculum, we also cover many topics focused on student wellbeing, promoting the ‘Five Ways to Wellbeing’: to connect, be active, take notice, keep learning and give.
The Character Curriculum is just one part of our broad personal development provision - more information about this can be found here:
