Mock EU Parliament Competition at WBGS
BackOn 8th November, Watford Grammar School for Boys hosted a Model European Union (EU) event in the STEM Centre, welcoming pupils from local schools including Watford Girls, Queens’, Parmiter’s, and Northwood College for Girls. The event introduced students to Model United Nations (MUN), with participants representing ten EU member nations.
Students engaged in breakout debates, presenting and voting on resolutions addressing key challenges such as energy shortages and climate change. Selected resolutions were then presented in the General Assembly, where delegates voted on their success. A standout resolution from a WBGS student passed, impressing the audience with its originality and persuasive delivery.
The day concluded with a speech by Prashon, an Old Fullerian, and an awards ceremony. France won Best Nation, while Best Delegate was awarded to a WBGS student for their exceptional performance. A full write-up by Thomas B will feature in The Fullerian.
