Film Studies
The A Level Film Studies course ignites passion for film as we explore and engage critically with a wide range of films from different cultures, eras and genres to develop confident responses. Students demonstrate understanding through either filmmaking or screenwriting.

● demonstrating knowledge and understanding of a diverse range of film, including documentary, film from the Silent Era, experimental and short film
● understanding film and its key contexts (including social, cultural, political, historical and technological contexts)
● knowledge and understanding of how films generate meanings and responses
● understanding of the different ways in which spectators respond to film
● applying critical approaches to film
● applying knowledge and understanding of film through either filmmaking or screenwriting
