The Spanish department celebrated the Mexican tradition of the Day of the Dead (2nd of November) with KS3 students.

Our lunchtime film screening of Coco, in which a boy travels to the after world and reconnects with relatives, attracted so many students that the room was packed with happy boys, eating popcorn and enjoying the movie in Spanish with English subtitles. It was a lovely atmosphere and great way to finish the first half term. We are looking forward to this end of term when we will watch Home alone in Spanish.

Additionally, Ms Delgado Bautista beautifully decorated a traditional offering table with flowers, candles, food and photos in the library. Students were given the task to look at the different elements and label worksheets accordingly in Spanish. This was a great opportunity for students to experience the foreign culture within our school.
