French Sixth Form Soirrée

On Monday evening after school the Lower and Upper 6 French boys gathered for our annual Christmas soirée. We watched ‘Un p’tit truc en plus ‘ - a highly acclaimed French film released this year. We watched the film in ‘version originale’ with the only help coming from French subtitles.

This was followed by a French light meal so boys could sample a variety of French food. Isis, the French assistant, organised a French word game and we all had a lot of fun and laughter competing to be the overall winner.

Paris Trip - October 2024

The French Department was thrilled to take 39 students to Paris for a four-day cultural and educational experience. Led by Mrs Twyford, Mrs Graham, Mr Chase, and Mr Matthews – with the invaluable support of our coach driver, Merv – the trip was packed with memorable moments.

Students explored Parisian landmarks, including the Catacombs, Musée de la Libération, and Arc de Triomphe. A boat trip along the Seine and a guided tour of Montmartre brought the city’s history to life, while visits to the Jardin des Tuileries and Tour Montparnasse offered stunning views. French cuisine was enthusiastically embraced, with students sampling crêpes, escargot, and unforgettable meals at Flam’s and Gigi’s.

The trip blended culture, history, and camaraderie, leaving lasting memories for all.
