This year's Autumn Concerts will take place on Wednesday 27th and Thursday 28th November at 7pm.

On Wednesday evening the Senior Brass Ensemble will feature Robbie Curwen as the soloist in Minnie the Moocher, a memorable number from the Blues Brothers. Amongst other pieces, the Guitar Ensembles will perform some Susato  whilst the Senior Choir will showcase some of the Queen songs from our London concert. The Big Band will feature a recent composition Skyliner from the pen of the 95 year-old master Big Band arranger Sammy Nestico. Crescendo Strings are performing a selection of pieces by Bela Bartok and the Senior Wind Band will play John Moss’s music for The Three Amigos along with an Aretha Franklin tribute.

On the Thursday evening, the Friday Band is going to play John William’s Hymn to the Fallen, the Junior Brass Ensemble will be playing a piece by Cecil and Johnston entitled Charleston  and the Brass Band will play an arrangement of Lennon and McCartney’s Ticket to Ride. The Brass Quartet is going to perform Banchieri’s Echo Fantasia. The Senior Strings will play a selection of movements from Peter Warlock’s Capriol Suite and then the group will accompany some of our A Level musicians as soloists in a Bach three keyboard concerto and a John Stanley miniature for trumpet. The Senior Orchestra are going to perform Robert Sheldon’s Resurgences along with Light Rays by John Witney. Once again, there is plenty of musical variety for you to enjoy.

We are once again very grateful to the Friends of the School for organising the refreshments for the two evenings, and the FoS has also procured a selection of wonderful prizes, including a luxury hamper for someone to win in the fund-raising raffle.

Tickets are available now via priced at £6 for adults and £1 for students.

We look forward to welcoming you to two wonderful concerts.
