WATFORD GRAMMAR SCHOOL FOR BOYS ANNOUNCES PLANS FOR A NEW STEM CENTRE
Watford Grammar School for Boys has announced the development of a new Science Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM) Centre.
The new STEM Centre is being funded from a £2.65m capital grant from Government and construction is due to begin in September 2016. Working with Synergy Construction and Property Consultants, the School plans to develop a new three floor Centre that will comprise a full size science lab and engineering suite on the ground floor with a large CAD/CAM area upgrading the School’s current facilities significantly. The building will also house additional Sixth Form teaching rooms for mathematics as well as engineering and computer suites on the top floor including a conference area to allow for more science outreach work with local schools.
Commenting on the new STEM Centre WBGS Headmaster, Ian Cooksey, said “We are delighted to be announcing this new STEM Centre. This new Centre will not only allow us to offer unparalleled STEM teaching at our School, it will also give us the facilities and capacity to do more outreach STEM work with young people in the local area.”
